Can you believe we’ve already made it through the first 9 weeks? It has been such a great start to the year! We’ve spent this first quarter learning how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers, and I’m so proud of how much progress the students have made. They’ve been working hard and building important math skills that they’ll use all year long.

Now we’re heading into the second 9 weeks, which is always a fun and busy time full of sports, holidays, and school events . With so much going on, it’s extra important for students to stay organized, turn in assignments on time, and make up any work if they’re absent. Consistency really helps them keep up with everything we’re learning.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be starting Chapter 3: Equations and Expressions, where students will learn how to write and solve different types of equations — a key skill for algebra and beyond! After that, we’ll move into Chapter 4: Ratios and Proportions, which is always a fun, hands-on unit where math really connects to everyday life.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement at home. This group of 7th graders is full of energy and potential, and I’m so excited to see how much they’ll accomplish in the next few months!
