Working...
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful break and is ready to begin the third nine weeks of the school year. As we move into this next period, I wanted to share some important updates about what your child will be learning in mathematics.
Review and New Learning:
In the coming weeks, we will be reviewing one-step and two-step equations to reinforce the foundational skills that are crucial for success in more complex math concepts. These skills will serve as a bridge to new material and help solidify students' understanding of algebraic thinking.
New Topics:
We will also be introducing your child to several exciting new topics:
- Ratios and Proportions: Understanding the relationships between quantities and how they apply to real-world situations.
- Percents: Exploring how percents are used in everyday contexts such as discounts, taxes, and data interpretation.
- Geometry: Diving into the study of shapes, area, perimeter, and basic geometric reasoning to build spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.
I am excited about the progress we’ve made so far, and I look forward to continuing this journey with your child. Please encourage your student to stay engaged, ask questions, and seek help when needed—math can be challenging, but with consistent effort, everyone can succeed!
How You Can Support Your Child:
- Ensure your child is completing their homework and class assignments on time.
- Encourage them to ask for help when needed, either from me or a classmate.
- Ask them about what they are learning in class; engaging in conversations about math can help reinforce their learning.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via email at ashlee.hall@sequoyaheagles.net. I’m here to help and look forward to working together to support your child’s growth this semester.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!
