Happy January and Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a relaxing and wonderful winter break. Claremore Economic Development, Northeast Tech, and Sequoyah Middle and High School is excited to get the Spring 2026 semester started with a new roster of Career Connections students. The first three weeks of class we will be completing various self assessment assignments to evaluate the skills and career interests of each student. We will also be discussing and researching the six career fields and 16 career clusters which cover all careers in the United States and more specifically, Northeast Oklahoma. During the fourth week of class, we will begin to welcome the Northeast Tech Programs into our Middle School classroom to educate our students on what trades and training they offer to High School and adult students. This outstanding opportunity helps to assist our Middle School students to begin thinking about their future education plans. Also during the fourth week of classes, guest speakers and leaders from companies in our community who offer a variety of careers will begin to present to both Middle School and High School students.
We will have weekly discussions about the important soft skills and characteristics every employer is looking for in their employees and how we can each acquire and/or work on those daily. There will be a schedule of guest speakers posted soon, but as for now please take a look at the Northeast Tech Program schedule.
