Working...
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you and your family well-rested and ready for the exciting months ahead. As we transition back to school after the winter break, I want to take a moment to share what lies ahead for our students and how you can support them in their learning journey.
In the coming weeks, we will continue working through our class book, focusing on Chapters 8 through 11:
- Chapter 8: The Jefferson Era – Exploring Thomas Jefferson's presidency and its impact on the nation.
- Chapter 9: Growth and Expansion – Examining the changes in industry, transportation, and the economy during the early 19th century.
- Chapter 10: The Jackson Era – Discussing Andrew Jackson’s presidency and its effects on politics and society.
- Chapter 11: Manifest Destiny – Analyzing the concept of Manifest Destiny and its role in westward expansion.
These chapters cover significant periods in American history, and I encourage you to talk with your child about these topics to help reinforce their understanding and engagement.
Additionally, we will begin preparing for the U.S. Naturalization Test, a requirement for graduation. This test provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of American history, government, and civics. In class, we’ll use various engaging resources to make the preparation process both educational and enjoyable.
Here are some ways you can support your child at home:
- Discuss the historical themes they are learning in class.
- Help them review study materials for the Naturalization Test.
- Encourage them to stay organized and manage their time effectively.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need additional resources to support your child’s success. Thank you for your continued partnership in making this a productive and rewarding school year.
I look forward to seeing the great strides our students will make this semester!
Best regards,
