High School Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
We have almost made it to the end of another successful school year. We have taken on many challenges this school year and with our community working together we have been able to overcome those challenges and serve our students and our community. Here at Sequoyah, we work hard at meeting and keeping high expectations for all of our students. We focus everyday on four simple expectations: be at school on time, be to class on time, have all work completed on time, and follow the expectations in the student handbook. Sequoyah’s teachers and staff work hard to help students meet these expectations as well as trying to instill in our students a love for learning. If students can create good habits by meeting these expectations and developing a love for learning, they will be better prepared for when they enter the real world.
Seniors and Senior Parents: this will be a very busy and fast-paced end of the school year for you as you prepare for graduation and your future. Seniors make sure that you are checking your email daily for scholarships and deadlines for those scholarships. Seniors make sure that your cap and gown has been ordered. If you are unsure if they have been or not, check with Mrs. Space in the office ASAP.
Parents, I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to monitor your child’s grades and attendance through the student gradebook program; it gives you 24/7 access to this information. I have and will always believe that there is a direct correlation between poor grades and poor attendance. If you need assistance with setting up your username and password to monitor attendance and grades; feel free to contact Jennifer Bacon at (918)- 341-0642 or at jennifer.bacon@sequoyaheagles.net. Again, my door is always open to both parents and students, feel free to contact me at the school at (918)-341-0642. Below are some Important dates to remember for the remainder of the school year. Let’s finish the year strong and as always It’s A Great Day To Be An Eagle.
Thank You,
Mr. Osburn
