What is the United States Naturalization Test graduation requirement?
Beginning with the Class of 2025, Oklahoma students must take a 100 question test using the questions from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website. The law requires that students get at least 60 of the 100 questions correct in order to graduate.

NONPARTICIPATION FORM
Free Application for Federal Student Aid Opt-Out Form A.
In accordance with 70 O.S. § 1210.508-6 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, in order to graduate from a public high school accredited by the State Board of Education, students shall complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
B.A student shall not be required to comply with the provisions of subsection A of this section if:
1. The student’s parent or legal guardian submits a signed form authorizing the student to opt out of the requirement of subsection A of this section;
2. A student age eighteen (18) or older submits a signed form authorizing him or her to opt out of the requirement of subsection A of this section; or
3. A school counselor authorizes a student to opt out of the FAFSA graduation requirement.

FAFSA is a Diploma Requirement in Oklahoma this year for all Seniors 25. You will complete the FAFSA 25-26 since that is the year they will need the Free Money for the year after they graduate.
Remember to use your TAXES 2023 year.

About The Gates Scholarship
The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.
Selected Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance to earn a bachelor’s degree, that is not already covered by other financial aid and the Student Aid Index, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by a Scholar’s college or university. Costs covered include tuition, fees, books, and food and housing, and may include additional personal costs.
Eligibility requirements:
- A high school senior
- From at least one of the following ethnicities: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian/Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American
- Pell-eligible
- A US citizen, national, or permanent resident
- In a good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.
*For American Indian/Alaska Native, proof of tribal enrollment will be required.
