6th Grade Math

Introduction

My name is David Beck, and I am excited to be teaching math this year. I hold an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Before entering education, I worked for five seasons as the Manager of Ticket Operations at FC Tulsa. This is my first year teaching, and I am enthusiastic about bringing my real-world experience, strong work ethic, and problem-solving mindset into the classroom. I am also proud to serve as the middle school girls assistant soccer coach and enjoy being actively involved in our school community.

Welcome Back from Winter Break!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back, and I hope you and your family had a restful and enjoyable Christmas break. I’m excited to begin the new semester with your student.

As we return to math class, we will be starting a chapter on algebraic expressions and properties. Students will focus on writing and simplifying expressions, using properties of operations, and explaining their mathematical thinking.

Please encourage your student to come prepared, stay engaged, and ask questions when something feels challenging. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at david.beck@sequoyaheagles.net.
